The absurd Comedy, Digital collage.
The artists Genesis Belanger and Philip Guston, inspired me; with their opac faded colours and the irony and surrealism of their elements. While I was doing these digital collages I had some messed up thoughts regarding ordinary everyday events that recently happened to me. I decided to call this digital collage “absurd comedy”, as a memory of these events. The events were frustrating but I preferred to see them as a comical rather than tragic moment.
Albert Pla who is a musician and comedian is my main inspiration for The absurd Comedy. He has the ability to make you laugh by showing how absurd we or some events can be. Sometimes we wrongly take them too seriously, or the opposite: how serious some events are, he makes a criticism of them through absurdity as self awareness.

My mother´s tablecloth, Digital collage.
While I was creating these digital collages intuitively the tablecloth of my mother came into my mind. As a homage to her I decided to title one of the piece “my mother´s table cloth”. Her technique is meticulous and repetitive and her process slow and hypnotic. This inspired the detailed making of my piece and the little lines that form it.
When I am in a harsh emotional state I deliberately work with this process as a form of healing and meditation as it helps me with uncomfortable feelings. I recently discovered that more artists are using this meticulos and repetitive technique for similar reasons, one of them is Yayoi Kusama.

Blending time, Collage with art exhibition ephemera.
This collage is a combination of stories, technics, time and locations.

Pinochio, Mixed media.
I went back to an image of an etching that I did 3 years ago I thought to add into the etching some absurd drawings or photographs, influenced by graffities, chaotic, fun, messing around; saturate the image, and then desaturate it. I researched the book of Vivienne Westwood title `Active Resistance´ and I found some writings about Alice and Pinocchio looking at themselves in the mirrow, this writings influence me for a series of collages.

The absurd Comedy, Work in progress.
The absurd Comedy is an animation depicting absurdity. I wrote letters on some images inspired by the law of correspondence and The Matrix film as self-awareness, and at the same time, I animated some absurd images like a tongue swallowing pills near a lady, or a toilet near a foot and the tits as a metaphor for nonsense stories.
At the end of this animation (even if this artwork is still unfinished), it says: I will show you how to slay the dragon. This sentence is from a film of Nick Cave
and is referring to killing the ego which is the main reason for most of the problems and the main reason for the absurdity of many events and stories.
