Pirandello, Ceramic.
This object feels theatrical there for I have given it the name of Pirandello, the shadows and light of paintings from De Chirico inspires me for the colour of the object. This object is a mix of ceramic and 3D etching, (non traditional combination of mediums) is a result of cutting some of my paintings and making them 3D objects and then in to ceramic, A construction and deconstruction, adding and taking off. Some of the forms are made of clay some remain in paper the mixture of permanent and impermanent, a variety of materials are juxtaposed with each other.

Circular line, collage.
The main inspiration came from the Victoria and Albert museum artefacts where I experienced a sculpture of grotesque birds in bronze. Another significant source is the Chinese piece Jade Bi. This artefact has inspired me due to the simplicity of its circular form. As a response to the connection of the sources mentioned above I have acquired the inspiration of the ‘Circular line’ collage symbolizing the infinite circle of life.

Dot and line, Collage.
Paul Klee quoted : ‘A line is a dot that went for a walk’ , ‘Art does not reproduce the visible, rather, it makes visible’.
My drawing activity is almost entirely based on my body movements. Walking, stopping, rushing and slowing down, closing my eyes or staring at something. These are the gestures that inform my making and transform it into a journey. I revised my original drawings, aiming to push further the boundaries of manipulation through multiple photocopies of it. I chose this process in order to search for more layers and depth in it.

Divided head, Gouache.
This piece is a homage to Gordon Parks photograph
‘the new tide’. I interpreted the two mops portrayed, as two different parts of the brain. The one is the more empathic one and the other one is connected with AI.

Barbican, Collage.
I visited the exhibition of Lee Krasner and I was fascinated by the colours, the materials she used and the layering of different papers. This process of working influenced me deeply. My response to the exhibition was to begin layering papers. I was looking for the interaction between the shapes and the color.

Canary Wharf, collage.
This is a drawing made with pieces of torn, old etchings creating a collage out of them. This drawing is geometric and organic like the buildings and the streets in Canary Warf and the destroyed boat photographs at the Dockland museum of London. I was also inspired by the painter Elsworth Kelly and the way he drew and painted his unique lines.

Roman letters, collage.
This collage is a response to the Roman letters that I read when I visited the London Museum. The shapes in between the letters the negative and positive space is what interests me. Painter Mark Bradford influenced me in terms of materials, he uses a lot of papers and he then layers the paper while de-composing it. This process sometimes takes him several days. With my piece I attempted to follow a similar process.

Untitled, Collage.

Inward, Collage.
In these series I portray the human body as an artefact by transforming our preconceived idea of its shape. I aim to pose questions in regards to abstraction and figuration. Thus the collages are allegorical and can be interpreted in different ways.

Inward, Ceramic.

A chair for the soul, Ceramic.
Years ago I was reading the book A Chair for the Soul and I began to draw chairs exploring the different shapes and techniques. I was also interested with the relationship between edge and centre.

Pink shadows, collage.
This collage is a mixed media piece based on a photo from Nathan Graves Tuttle and collected exhibition ephemera. I was looking for new shapes to create a metaphysical image or to make the photo more difficult to read. I got influenced by Giorgio De Chirico in order to develop this work. The airplane symbolizes a negative force. The shadows are the shadows of fiction. The eyes represent our perception absolutely distorted.

Me too, Collage.

Mirroring perception, Installation.
I situated the piece inside a box full of mirrors, challenging ideas such as infinity, repetition, self in others, in and out. the pieces situated inside the box are two bodies reflecting to each other the duality of the two sides of humans and the integrations of them, that’s why I attempted to interlock them.
When you look through the 4 holes of the boxes, you are able to see parts of the pieces and your own eye on the other side of the box. in a way you see your own matrix, your own fiction, or the real. In order to further affect your perception of what is fiction and what is real, you also experience different shapes depending the angle of the holes.
